Reminder - School Absences
Lots of kids are sick, there are doctor's visits, college trips, and sometimes there is, sadly, a death in the family. Each absence must be accounted for. It is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to notify the office by phone the morning of the absence by or before 9:30 a.m. It is essential that parents/guardians also provide a written excuse for each absence. Such excuses should contain the date of the absence and the reason for the absence and can be emailed or handwritten but must be presented to the Main Office Attendance Clerk as soon as a student returns to school.
For more info here is the page about absences excerpted from the School Handbook. See the "Excused" and "Unexcused" info.
National PTA's 2021-2023 Public Policy Platform
As the nation's oldest and largest child advocacy association, National PTA is committed to ensuring that our nation enacts legislation that supports each and every child. National PTA advocates on Capitol Hill for every child with one voice.
What you can do for your country... Action Alert for NYS PTA
As our nation shifts towards recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and grapples with the ongoing school safety epidemic, Congress must act now to address the current youth mental health crisis, the gun violence traumatizing our school communities, increase access to the federal child nutrition programs, and invest in our children and our public education system.
Click to contact your members of Congress today to urge them to advocate for the health and safety of every child and support federal legislation and funding that strengthens family engagement and our whole school communities at-large. Your voice is critical to ensuring that Congress moves forward on these priorities and supports a future where every child can reach their full potential.
